Pebble-Grain Leather Exterior (All Bags)

LOURO uses premium pebble-grain leather, chosen for its durability, natural texture, and ability to age beautifully with use.

Daily Care

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after use to remove surface dust.

  • Avoid prolonged contact with water, oils, lotions, makeup, and alcohol-based products.

Cleaning

  • For light marks: use a slightly damp cloth (water only).

  • For deeper cleaning: use a neutral leather cleaner applied to a cloth—not directly on the leather.

  • Never use detergents, baby wipes, hand sanitisers, or abrasives.

Conditioning

  • Apply a leather conditioner every 6–12 months to keep the leather supple.

  • Always patch-test in a hidden area first.

Protection

  • Keep away from direct sunlight for long periods to prevent fading.

  • Avoid leaving the bag in hot cars, heaters, or humid spaces.

  • Store with the shape protected: use tissue paper or a soft bag insert when not in use.

  • Place inside your LOURO cotton dust bag when storing.

Water Exposure

Pebble-grain leather is naturally resilient, but still not waterproof.
If your bag gets wet:

  • Gently blot (don’t rub) with a soft dry cloth

  • Allow it to air dry naturally away from heat

 

 

PU-Lined Interior (Totes, Backpack, Clutch, Duffel)

The PU lining is designed to be wipe-clean, spill-resistant and durable — perfect for parents and everyday lifestyle use.

Daily Care

  • Simply wipe the interior with a damp cloth.

  • For crumbs, dust or powder, use a small handheld vacuum or turn the bag upside down and shake gently.

Cleaning Spills

  • Use a damp cloth with mild, fragrance-free soap.

  • Rinse the cloth and wipe again with water.

  • Dry with a soft towel or leave open to air dry.

What to Avoid

  • Harsh detergents

  • Bleach

  • Alcohol-based cleaners

  • Abrasive sponges
    These can wear down the PU coating over time.

Odour Control

  • Leave the bag open to air out for a few hours.

  • For stronger odours, place a small dry sachet of bicarbonate of soda inside overnight (in a container, not directly on the lining).

 

 

Hardware & Zips

  • Wipe with a soft dry cloth to remove fingerprints and oils

  • Keep away from perfumes, hand sanitiser sprays, and saltwater

  • Don’t force a stiff zip—use a small amount of zip wax or simply run a dry candle edge lightly along the teeth

 

 

Storage Guidelines

  • Store in your LOURO cotton dust bag

  • Keep in a cool, dry place

  • Avoid stacking heavy items on top

  • Stuff the bag gently to maintain shape

  • Do not store near direct sunlight or air vents

 

 

Long-Term Leather Behaviour

Your leather will:

  • Soften subtly with use

  • Develop a natural sheen

  • Form a slight patina over years
    This is normal for premium leather and forms part of the character of your LOURO piece.
